Wild Greens and Sardines Grilled Cheese
Ingredients:
- 2 slices of sourdough bread
- 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup of fresh wild greens e
- g
- , arugula, dandelion greens
- 1/4 cup of canned sardines in olive oil, drained and flaked
- 1/4 cup of shredded Gruyre cheese
- 1/4 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions:
On one side of each slice of sourdough bread, spread a lot of softened butter
Put a piece of bread in a pan or griddle over medium-low heat with the buttered side facing down
Spread the wild greens out evenly on top of the bread in the pan
Add the flaked sardines to the greens and season with black pepper that has just been ground
Spread the shredded mozzarella and Gruyre cheeses out evenly over the sardines and greens
Put the second slice of bread on top of the cheese, buttered side up
This will make a sandwich
If you want the bread to be golden brown and the cheese to be gooey, cook the sandwich for three to four minutes on each side
Take the grilled cheese out of the pan and let it cool for one minute
Then cut it in half
Enjoy your grown-up grilled cheese with wild greens and sardines while its still hot
