No-Knead Cheese Burger Buns
Ingredients:
- 1 1/4 cups warm water 110F or 45C
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg, beaten for egg wash
- Sesame seeds optional, for topping
Instructions:
Warm water and sugar should be mixed in a bowl
Put the yeast on top of the water and let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes, or until it starts to foam
Put the flour, shredded cheddar cheese, melted butter, and salt in a large bowl
Mix the yeast and water together with the dry ingredients, then stir them together until a dough forms
Let the dough rise for one to two hours, or until it has doubled in size
Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap
Turn on your oven and heat it up to 375F 190C
Cut the dough into 8 equal pieces and roll each one out into a round about the size of a burger bun
Leave some space between the dough rounds when you put them on a baking sheet that has been lined with parchment paper
Spread the egg wash over the buns tops, and if you want, you can sprinkle sesame seeds on top as well
Warm the oven up and put the buns in it
Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until they are golden brown and sound hollow when you tap them on the bottom
Take the buns out of the oven and let them cool on a wire rack before you use them to make your cheeseburger
