- 1 pound 450g pizza dough
- 1/4 cup 60ml pizza sauce
- 1 1/2 cups 150g shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup 55g sliced pepperoni or your favorite pizza toppings
- 1/4 cup 30g grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons 30ml olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish optional
Instructions:
Turn on your oven and heat it up to 375F 190C
A 9x9-inch 23x23cm square baking dish or a dish of the same size that can go in the oven should be greased
On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough until it is about 6 mm 1/4 inch thick
Once the dough is rolled out, cut it into squares or rectangles that are about 2 inches by 2 inches 5 cm by 5 cm
Sprinkle a little mozzarella cheese and a piece of pepperoni in the middle of each square of dough
The filling should be tucked inside a small pocket made of dough
Pinch the edges to close the pocket
Place the filled dough pockets in a single layer in the baking dish that has been prepared
In a small bowl, mix the pizza sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and red pepper flakes, if you want to use them
Spread the sauce mixture out over the dough pockets that have been filled
On top of the dough pockets, sprinkle the rest of the mozzarella cheese and the grated Parmesan cheese
For extra flavor, sprinkle dried oregano on top of the cheese
After the oven is hot, bake the pizza for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly and a little crispy
Take it out of the oven and let it cool a bit before adding fresh basil leaves, if you want to
Enjoy while still warm
